Chapter 39 The Endless Tasks
Chapter 39 The Endless Tasks
On a dark and stormy night, cries for help came from a forest.
"Please, please spare me. I promise I'll never eat people again. Please."
But the man remained unmoved, gently raised his knife and swung it forcefully, separating the ghost's head from its body.
"This is exhausting! It's the fifth demon I've encountered in the last two days. Don't they give me a break? Running around like this is killing me," Uchiha Tenichi complained.
This was the fifth ghost he'd encountered in two days, and anyone would find it annoying.
"Gah gah gah, Tian Yi Yi, please go to Zhenxin Town where an innocent girl has disappeared without a trace. It must be the work of a ghost," the wind shouted in the sky.
Tianyi patted his head helplessly. This was the sixth ghost in three days, and possibly the seventh.
"Why is this so annoying? I'm already exhausted. Can I go and rest after killing this ghost? Otherwise, no matter how good my health is, I can't keep going." Although Tianyi complained, his body betrayed him as he walked forward.
"Tell me! Which direction? Wind, you should know I have no sense of direction!" Tianyi shouted to the sky, after all, Wind already knew he had no sense of direction.
"Northwest, Northwest. Zhenxin Town is in the Northwest. Follow me. It's not far, so my lord has entrusted this task to you."
"My lord, I really thank you. You always find things for me to do," Tianyi said speechlessly, standing there in place.
Otherwise, use Kamui; it's incredibly fast.
"Let the wind come down quickly, let me sleep for a day for the last task." Tianyi was already imagining how he would lie in bed and how comfortable it would be.
The wind was very obedient and flew directly onto Tianyi's shoulder.
"divine power"
The space began to distort the next moment until Uchiha Tenichi's figure could no longer be seen, as if nothing had happened. However, if you looked at the ground, you could see traces of a fight.
"Tianyi, what is this? It's amazing! We were just tens of kilometers away, and you've already come all this way!" Feng said happily, his eyes sparkling.
Uchiha Tenichi said nonchalantly, "It's nothing, it's nothing, it's just Kamui. My lord knows about this technique, after all, he was the first to know that I can enter the subspace, so it doesn't matter if you know."
Is this Pallet New Town? It's alright! There's just not much of a crowd late at night.
Tianyi walked aimlessly forward and found that there was not a single person along the way. If it weren't for the absence of human presence, Tianyi would have thought it was a ghost town.
"Feng, are you sure this is the place? Why is there no one here?" Uchiha Tenichi turned to Feng and said.
The wind began to explain to Tianyi, "Because a girl disappears every night, and this is the fifth day, they lock the doors and windows at night and won't open them for anyone."
Tianyi arrived at a noodle shop and knocked on the door.
"Hello, is anyone inside?"
"Nobody's here, nobody's here."
Tian turned to leave, but as soon as he turned around, he realized something was wrong. Where did the sound come from if there was no one there?
Tianyi immediately turned around, grabbed the two handles of the door with both hands, and pried the door open with force.
I was completely stunned by what I saw – the uncle making noodles inside.
“Shinshi-yaku arimase (You guys can guess), Uncle, I haven’t eaten anything for a day, I’m really starving.”
Seeing Tianyi's attire, the uncle already guessed that Tianyi wasn't from here. "You're probably not from around here, right? What are you doing in Zhenxin Town?"
Faced with the uncle's question, Tianyi sat on the stool and said in a very loud voice, "I came here to complete a mission. I heard that a girl disappeared here, so it's possible that a ghost did it. I came here to eliminate it."
Tian put a knife on the table, which startled the uncle. He thought Tian was going to rob the noodle shop.
"Don't worry, this knife is for killing ghosts," Tianyi explained.
The man looked puzzled, as if ghosts really existed in this world.
"My name is Bill. What's your name?"
In response to Bill's question, Tenichi loudly proclaimed once again, "My name is Tenichi, Uchiha Tenichi."
"If you want noodles, please wait a moment."
After saying that, Bill turned around, picked up the noodles, and walked towards the kitchen.
Tianyi sat alone on a stool, looking out the window at the sky. The moon was already overhead, which meant that dawn would break soon.
Tianyi asked with a puzzled look, "Why is there no ghostly aura at all? Has a girl already been kidnapped?"
Just then, a voice came from outside, a very urgent voice.
"Have you seen my daughter?" The woman saw the noodle shop was open and assumed her daughter was inside.
Tianyi asked, "What happened?"
"My Mitsuri is missing. Have you seen her?"
The woman said her daughter's name.
Why does this name sound so familiar? Stop thinking about it, I have to hurry, or that girl will be doomed.
Uchiha Tenichi picked up the knife on the table and ran outside alone, a scene witnessed by the girl's father.
The girl's father spoke up urgently, "Son, have you seen my Miri? She's about a head shorter than you, and her hair is pink."
Tianyi patted his head helplessly. Why could he encounter the Love Pillar in such a remote place? He didn't remember this plot.
But the instant Tianyi stood still, he sensed the presence of a ghost.
Following the ghost's figure, they arrived at a grove of trees.
"You demon, you can't escape now. Release that girl!" Uchiha Tenichi slowly drew his Nichirin Blade.
"Hehehe, you Demon Slayer Corps people are really fearless. I'll show you what I'm capable of."
Blood Demon Art: Frost
"Hehehe, get ready to turn into an ice sculpture."
Uchiha Tenichi walked over leisurely, looking completely unconcerned.
Dragon Breath - Fourth Form - Dragon Whirlwind.
He easily dodged the frost, stood before the demon, lightly swung his knife, and then casually withdrew it.
The movement was completed in one smooth motion.
As the evil spirit slowly disappeared, Tianyi smiled happily.
Then, looking at Kanroji Mitsuri on the ground, I was speechless. You can actually fall asleep in this situation, you're really amazing.
I gently patted Kanroji Mitsuri's shoulder, but it didn't work; she really could sleep.
"Miss Mitsuri, wake up. You are safe now."
After saying this, Tianyi noticed that Kanroji Mitsuri was still unconscious and looked puzzled, wondering if she had been knocked unconscious.
Tianyi, carrying Kanroji Mitsuri in one hand and a knife in the other, hurried back. He could already see Kanroji Mitsuri with her father and mother from a distance.
"The sixth demon in three days, I can finally rest." Tenichi handed Ganroji Mitsuri over to his parents and went into the noodle shop alone.
"Uncle Bill, I'm so sorry, there was an unexpected situation just now so I had to go out..." Tianyi was about to explain, but was interrupted by someone.
"Kid, I've seen everything you've done. Eat it while it's hot!" Bill gave Tianyi a happy smile.
"No ants, no ants"
Tianyi exclaimed very loudly, "These noodles are so delicious! This is the first time I've ever eaten such delicious noodles!"
Just then, the girl outside walked in; she was timid and hesitant.
"Thank you, thank you for saving me. I don't know how to thank you enough," said Kanroji Mitsuri with a smile.
"No need to thank me, it's what we should do anyway," Uchiha Tenichi replied nonchalantly.
