Chapter 220: Disappointment
That evening, Ji Tianzhuo got out of bed, took a shower, and went out. He didn't notice the little tail following him.
As soon as he entered, he ordered the same girl from yesterday. Ji Tianzhuo went straight to her room, startling her as she was deep in thought.
Upon seeing that it was Ji Tianzhuo, his expression immediately turned sour again.
"What, after all these days, you're afraid of me again?" He sat down directly, crossed his legs, took a sip of tea from the cup she had just used, put it on the table, and then asked, "I still don't know your name. What's your name?"
“I don’t have a name.” She stared at him intently.
Ji Tianzhu chuckled, "How could you not have a name? Didn't the nanny give you one?"
"No," she quickly denied.
Ji Tianzhuo looked at the table in front of him, then chuckled and asked, "How about I give you one, and you can be called... Xiao Jing?"
"Xiao Jing?" she repeated, seemingly savoring the name in her mind, then looked at Ji Tianzhuo, neither saying yes nor no. She then returned to her previous state.
Ji Tianzhuo had already composed himself, said a few words to himself, and then went out.
Downstairs, a lively scene unfolded, with each man embracing a young and beautiful girl. They giggled and flattered each other in unison. Ji Tianzhuo stood quietly on the second floor, watching them.
Suddenly he heard someone calling his name. He turned around and saw his brothers. A smile quickly spread across his face.
"Here we go again, let's have a drink together."
The group entered a private room together. Someone poured them drinks. Ji Tianzhuo looked at the glass in his hand and couldn't help but ask, "What do you think is the best way to make Ji Meiqing and the others' movements most effective?"
They burst into laughter again, one of them looking at him with a wry smile: "I thought things would change today, but you're still thinking about how to trip her up?"
Ji Tianzhuo glanced at him and said disdainfully, "I'm not just trying to trip him up; I'm after the money my Ji family has. If that old geezer of mine finds me useless in the future, who knows what he'll do to me. Right now, I'm just trying to find a way to avoid all of this."
"So it was all for the Ji family's position." They laughed again, and a few of them looked at him with pity, not forgetting to provoke him: "Luckily I'm the eldest son. My family only has me as their son, so this position will be mine sooner or later."
Ji Tianzhu glared at him, feeling quite resentful, but unable to express it. He angrily drank a few mouthfuls of wine in silence, then stared at the food in front of him.
However, a few of them suddenly looked at him excitedly and said, "I have a way to let you rightfully bring down Ji Meiqing and make you the next head of the Ji family."
Upon hearing this, Ji Tianzhuo immediately became interested and hurriedly leaned over to ask, "What method?"
"No matter how powerful Ji Meiqing is, she's only good at fighting alone. If she doesn't have a powerful background, crushing her would be as easy as crushing an ant!"
They discussed this with him, then stared at him nervously. Ji Tianzhuo took a sip of his drink, seemingly lost in thought, and appeared to agree that it was a good idea, just with a problem with the background.
The expressions on their faces turned hesitant, and the remaining people looked at each other, not knowing what this meant. Then they heard Ji Tianzhuo say, "The Ji family isn't exactly a big family, their background is so-so, what should we do?"
"You don't have any, but no one else does either." He looked at Ji Tianzhuo with a reproachful expression, his eyes filled with growing disappointment.
He's not smart when he should be, and he's as stupid as a pig when he shouldn't be. It took Ji Tianzhu a while to realize what he meant, and he laughed and responded twice.
It felt as if a light had suddenly shone into his heart. Ji Tianzhuo looked at him gratefully and then kept toasting him.
The latter accepted it with a smile.
"If we succeed this time, I, Ji, will never forget you brothers. You're true brothers, true righteousness!"
The young master chuckled wickedly, and the two seemed to have reached some kind of deal; his smile sent chills down one's spine.
After finishing his drink, Ji Tianzhuo felt it wasn't enough, so he had a few girls brought over. The group of men and women, in their drunken state, started playing games.
Ji Tianzhuo completely forgot about his previous troubles and started joking around with them.
The room was filled with laughter and chatter, but Tian Cuiwei outside the door clenched her fists, looking at the door with great resentment.
If he could give her some confidence, he could just kick the door open and go in. But his rational mind kept telling him he couldn't do that.
She was so angry she could barely speak, and the maid beside her didn't know what to do either. She couldn't leave, and she couldn't stay.
The giggling sounds coming from inside made one blush; it was unclear what they were doing. After hesitating for a long time, he cautiously asked Tian Cuiwei, "It's getting late, Madam. We should head back now."
"You should go back first." He took a deep breath and turned to walk in another direction. He was seething with anger, with nowhere to vent it, so he wandered around. Suddenly, he saw a girl whose figure and appearance were similar to what his maid had described, so he curiously walked over.
When she saw Tian Cuiwei's face, she was stunned. The girl looked at Tian Cuiwei with some surprise and asked, "Madam, who are you looking for?"
"I..." The words caught in her throat, but Tian Cui smiled and said, "Can we talk?"
The girl was even more surprised, not knowing what the other woman wanted to say, so she agreed, "Okay."
The two entered the room, and the girl brewed two cups of tea, one for each of them. After she sat down, Tian Cuiwei brazenly looked her over, which made her feel uncomfortable, and she wanted to escape.
"I heard from my little peach blossom that you've been getting quite close to my husband lately?" Tian Cuiwei asked slowly.
"Huh?" The girl was confused and didn't know what she was talking about, but seeing her expression, she nodded silently, "I've seen him once or twice."
“As a woman of the night, I know this kind of helplessness.” She smiled, her gaze drifting elsewhere, seemingly lost in thought. The young woman looked at her curiously, then cautiously guessed, “So… before…”
“I’m not,” she denied immediately, then chuckled twice. “But I’m no different from you. You’re in this building, and I’m in that courtyard. We serve roughly the same purpose.”
"Oh." She realized what was happening and fell silent. Tian Cuiwei suddenly took her hand and said gently, "If you need anything, you can come to me for help. We're all in the same boat, let's help each other out."
