Chapter 66 Otherwise, I'll feel heartache
After they got into the car, Ji Yan helped Ning Yi fasten her seatbelt.
"I'll take you to the hospital first," Ji Yan said, glancing at her with concern. He could tell that Ning Yi was feeling quite unwell.
Ji Yan then took Ning Yi to a nearby hospital.
After the doctor's examination, it was said that Ningyi's tonsils were inflamed, she had caught a cold, and had a slight fever. She could go for an IV drip.
Then I prescribed her some medicine and told her to take it on time, eat a light diet, avoid getting cold, and get plenty of rest.
Ji Yan got a private room from the hospital and took Ning Yi to lie down on the bed. Seeing the nurse giving her an IV drip, he went over and said softly, "Xiao Yi, rest for a while. I'll go get your medicine and pay the bill."
Ning Yi nodded, and then Ji Yan turned around, went out, closed the door, and went to get the medicine and pay the bill.
After doing all that, Ji Yan quietly stayed with Ning Yi in the ward. Looking at Ning Yi sleeping soundly, he couldn't help but reach out and gently touch her face.
After more than an hour of IV fluid administration, Ning Yi finally woke up when the nurse came to remove the needle.
After giving some instructions, the nurse left the ward.
Ning Yi slept peacefully for a while and felt better.
"You've been here the whole time?" Ning Yi asked.
Ji Yan nodded: "Yeah, you seem to be sleeping soundly."
"Thank you for your trouble, making you come all this way," Ning Yi said, somewhat touched.
His eyes were gentle, and he smiled slightly at her: "What's wrong with that? It's only right."
"Rest a little longer. Come to my place later, and I'll make you something to drink. It's just that it's still a half-hour drive."
Ning Yi suddenly thought of something and said, "You can come to my place, the apartment is just a few minutes away."
Ji Yan nodded: "That's fine too."
Ning Yi lay there for a few more minutes before saying she was getting up to leave.
After that, Ji Yan took Ning Yi to her apartment.
Once inside the apartment, Ji Yan turned on the heating and told Ning Yi to sit on the sofa for a while, while he took the ingredients into the kitchen.
Ning Yi followed curiously: "What did you buy?"
As Ji Yan picked up the ingredients, she said, "I bought some vegetables, some spare ribs, and seasonings."
"I'll make you a bowl of rock sugar pear soup now, and later I'll steam some salted oranges for you."
Ji Yan suddenly remembered something, then turned to Ning Yi and asked, "Where's the apron?"
"I know, I'll get it for you," Ning Yi said, turning to get the apron.
Then he walked up to Ji Yan and said, "Shall I help you tie it?"
Ji Yan smiled and said, "Okay."
Then Ning Yi held the apron closer and smelled Ji Yan's unique fragrance. Fortunately, her nose wasn't so stuffy anymore...
She stood behind Ji Yan, wrapped her arms around his waist, and pulled his apron from the front to the back to tie it.
"Okay," Ning Yi said.
Ji Yan turned to look at Ning Yi: "Go and rest on the sofa for a while, I can take care of things here."
Ning Yi pursed her lips and nodded: "Alright then."
Then Ning Yi lay back down on the sofa.
She lay there for a while and then drifted off to sleep again.
After a while, she felt something covering her.
Ning Yi opened her eyes and found Ji Yan covering her with a blanket.
Ji Yan saw that she was awake: "You're awake?"
"They don't even bother to cover themselves with a blanket when they sleep here."
Ning Yi sniffed and said, "It's okay, I'm not cold."
"Are you feeling better? Your nose, throat, and head are still hot." Ji Yan reached out and touched Ning Yi's forehead, finding it wasn't hot.
Ning Yi replied, "My nose is better, my throat is still a little sore, and my head isn't as dizzy as before."
Ji Yan nodded: "The rock sugar pear soup is almost ready. It can be drunk in two more minutes."
Ning Yi smiled at him: "Okay."
Then Ji Yan went back to the kitchen to check on the pot. After a while, Ji Yan came out with a bowl of rock sugar pear.
"Drink it when it's cooled down, while it's still hot," Ji Yan said, placing the bowl on the coffee table in front of Ning Yi before sitting down beside her.
Ning Yi glanced at the bowl of rock sugar pear soup on the coffee table, then at Ji Yan, and couldn't help but say, "I feel so happy."
Ji Yan was slightly taken aback upon hearing this, then smiled and reached out to pat Ning Yi's head: "So easily satisfied?"
Ning Yi lowered her head and leaned against Ji Yan, who then pulled her into his arms and made her rest against his chest.
Ji Yan's voice was somewhat low as he said gently, "Take good care of yourself while I'm not around, or I'll be worried about you."
Upon hearing this, Ning Yi instinctively reached out and hugged him tighter, then said, "Okay, I won't let you worry."
After a while, Ji Yan told Ning Yi to quickly drink the rock sugar pear soup.
After finishing her soup, Ning Yi watched videos of their previous rehearsals on her phone, while Ji Yan went to the car to get his laptop and started working on his job.
Ning Yi turned off her phone after watching for a while and found that Ji Yan was still typing very seriously, and then he looked like he was checking something.
She curiously went over and found that it was all text she couldn't understand.
Ning Yi asked, "What are you looking at?"
Ji Yan replied, "Let's look at the data from some other companies and stores, and their profits."
"Why are you looking at these?" Ning Yi continued to ask.
Ji Yan tapped the keyboard again, then stopped and said to Ning Yi, "Besides singing and acting, I also do my own investments."
"I need to analyze industry trends and financial statements to filter out business projects that do more harm than good, thus minimizing my losses."
Ning Yi nodded, seemingly understanding but not quite.
"So even if we go public one day, don't think it will affect me in any way."
Ji Yan put away the computer and patted Ning Yi's head: "Are you hungry?"
Ning Yi shook her head: "No."
"Come here," Ji Yan said.
"Huh?" Ning Yi asked, somewhat puzzled.
Ji Yan pulled Ning Yi into his arms and held her close.
Ning Yi was startled by the sudden action, and then said somewhat embarrassedly, "What... are you doing?"
Ji Yan looked down and saw that Ning Yi's face was flushed, then smiled and said, "Xiao Yi, why is your face so red? Do you have a fever again?"
Then Ji Yan reached out to touch Ning Yi's forehead, but Ning Yi grabbed him, somewhat annoyed and embarrassed: "What...don't tease me."
Ji Yan chuckled and put her hand back: "Alright, alright, I won't tease you anymore."
After chatting for a while, Ji Yan got up to prepare dinner.
Ning Yi followed her into the kitchen.
"What are you going to make for me to eat?" Ning Yi leaned over to take a look.
"Sweet and sour pork ribs, stir-fried cauliflower, scrambled eggs with ham, and corn and pork rib soup," Ji Yan said while washing the vegetables.
Ning Yi was a little surprised: "These are all my favorite foods!"
Ji Yan smiled and said, "So you should eat more."
"How did you know I like to eat these? Were you secretly observing me?" Ning Yi pressed.
Ji Yan paused in washing the vegetables and continued, "I've noticed that you pick these dishes the most often when you eat, so naturally they're your favorites."
Ning Yi was touched, thinking that Ji Yan was so thoughtful.
“Didn’t you say before that you weren’t very good at cooking? Now you can do everything!” Ning Yi said.
Ji Yan curled the corners of her lips: "You just need to focus on eating."
"Since you're such a good cook, can I order?" Ning Yi asked, tilting her head.
"Of course, what would you like to eat?"
