Lifen didn't know whether she should breathe a sigh of relief or be even more anxious. She stood at the door, stunned, with tears welling up in her eyes, moved by her own deep feelings.

Lin Qingping, wearing a military shirt, looked at her with a half-smile.

"You..." Lifen's face turned deathly pale. "How...how is it you? Where is...Brother Gu?" She looked inside, but there was no one else there...

Lin Qingping smiled, returned to her room, and pressed the button on the tape recorder. Gu Juncheng's voice reciting poetry came through the tape, along with the line: "What is it?"

Lifen staggered back two steps, her face ashen. "How could this be? How could this be... It was clearly Brother Gu... It was clearly..."

Lifen's eyes suddenly sharpened. "No, I'm not going!"

"Not going? What are you doing here if you're not going? Are you going to do something shameful? You've completely disgraced my old face!" Gu Youlian's people had brazenly seduced her brother and embarrassed her in front of her sister-in-law. She was utterly ashamed.

"Where have I lost face? I'm not losing face at all!" Lifen said angrily. "Anyway, Lin Qingping doesn't like Brother Gu and isn't nice to him, so what's wrong with me being nice to him?"

Enraged, Gu Youlian slapped him again, yelling, "I'm so angry! Get out of here right now! Get out!"

"I won't leave!" Lifen covered her face, crying as she defiantly questioned Lin Qingping, "Brother Gu is such a good person, why are you treating him badly? Since you're not treating him well, then give him to me! I'll treat him well!"

Lin Qingping found it utterly ridiculous. "Which eye of yours saw that I treated him badly?"

"You're so good to him, yet you don't cook for him and let him cook noodles by himself? You're so good to him, yet you make him knead dough in the kitchen? You're so good to him, yet you scold and yell at him, and punish him by not letting him eat if he doesn't do his work well? You're so good to him, yet you don't make clothes for him? He always comes back wearing the same clothes!"

Lin Qingping laughed, "Yes, I treat him so badly, I don't feed him, I make him do whatever he wants, and I let him go hungry and cold, but he is still my husband. What am I supposed to do?"

"Can't you just give him to me?" Lifen said angrily.

"No way!" Lin Qingping laughed deftly, "And also, this is a military marriage, and breaking up a military marriage is illegal!"

"I didn't sabotage anything! I just don't like the look of you!" Lifen retorted angrily.

Lin Qingping laughed, "What a coincidence, I also find you displeasing now."

So what if you don't like me? I don't care!

Lin Qingping picked up the bundle she had left at the door and threw it down from the second floor, saying, "Take your things with you!"

Gu Youlian dragged Lifen all the way back to her home.

Surprisingly, Dugan came back tonight.

As soon as Gu Youlian entered the room, Du Gen saw her and Lifen wrestling together.

"What's wrong?" Dugan asked curiously.

"What's wrong?" Gu Youlian was so angry she wanted to curse Du Gen as well. "What kind of people did you bring from your hometown?! They did such shameless things! I'm too ashamed to even say anything!"

Lifen looked at Gu Youlian with dissatisfaction in her eyes, "I'm not shameless!"

"Are you still being stubborn?" Gu Youlian didn't care about anything else and revealed that Lifen actually liked her brother and was trying to ruin her brother and sister-in-law's marriage.

To be honest, when Lin Qingping asked her to cooperate in tonight's play, she was skeptical and didn't quite believe it. She even thought that Lin Qingping was just too concerned about her brother, which was why she was so suspicious.

Unexpectedly, she actually witnessed such a good show!

"Let her go back tomorrow! Don't let her continue to embarrass me here!" Gu Youlian said.

Lifen looked to Dugen for help, "Brother Dugen, I don't want to go back! How can I face people if I go back? I came to the capital to make a living, I don't want to go back!"

Dugen glanced at Lifen, then at Gu Youlian, and sighed, "Go back. I'll take you to the train station tomorrow."

The next day, Gu Youlian came to tell Lin Qingping that Lifen had been sent away.

This can be considered as giving his younger brother and sister-in-law an explanation.

Last night, Wu Tianping happened to be going back to school, so she asked him to tell Gu Juncheng that she was busy this week and asked him not to come home. Wu Tianjiao really thought that she had left Gu Juncheng behind for the sake of her friends' get-together, but that wasn't the case. She even got a good scolding from Wu Tianjiao.

Actually, if Lifen hadn't brought the clothes to her house last night, things might not have escalated to this point. It just goes to show that everyone has to be responsible for their own actions.
