Chapter 43 Hiding
Chapter 43 Hiding
In the dense forest, Li Yang led the three people and the cat swiftly through the darkness, the pink flame burning in her palm serving as their source of comfort in the darkness.
The chaotic footsteps and rapid breathing of the group were particularly noticeable in the dense forest. Li Yang couldn't help but stop. "You guys are too weak. You're panting like you're going to die after running just a few steps!"
"what?"
As the pink fireworks drew closer, the group looked up, and Li Yang seemed to see the faces of three residents who had stayed in the morgue for more than three days.
Li Yang sighed helplessly. Even with the flame in his palm, he couldn't see the whole picture. And what if Ji Cang and the others couldn't find them if they ran too far?
Zeng Xu, shrinking his neck, asked, "Li Yang, aren't we going to run away?"
Li looked around and said, "Let's find a place to hide first. What if they can't find us if we run too far?"
Li Yang gave him a look that said he was a promising young man. Li Su was the youngest among them, but he was much smarter than them!
Mo Yixing gathered green light in his hand. "I'll find it. I'm a wood elementalist."
Li Yang nodded, the pink flame in her hand burning brighter. "Thank you for your hard work. It would be best if we could find a cave."
"it is good."
Mo Yixing probed the ground with his spiritual energy, closed his eyes and carefully sensed it. Thin green lines extended outward from underground, like vibrant veins.
Since they had nothing else to do, Li Su and Zeng Xu approached Li Yang and leaned down to touch the flame in her palm.
"Li Yang, what kind of fire is this? Why is it pink? Does it have any offensive power?"
Li Yang stretched out her hand, smiling brightly, "Why don't you try and see?"
The two exchanged a glance, then reached in and stuck their fingers in. Two pig-like screams immediately rang out... but Li Yang quickly covered their mouths.
The ethereal cat in her arms was laughing so hard it was almost uncontrollable. Li Yang angrily stomped her foot on their insteps, "Shut up!"
"Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu"
"Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu"
"Found it!" Mo Yixing looked at them excitedly, but when he saw their flushed faces, he was puzzled. "What's wrong with you guys?"
Li Yang squinted at them as a warning, then nodded and said, "Let's go."
The two swallowed their pain and continued walking forward, their fingers scalded with large blisters.
A dark cave entrance appeared before them, with two large trees stretching out on either side, just enough to block the outline of the entrance.
Li Yang's eyes revealed admiration. "Not bad."
After entering, Mo Yixing used his spiritual power to pull all the vines and trees outside the cave inside, making the entire cave entrance almost completely sealed off.
Li Yang picked up a tree branch from outside the cave, walked to the innermost part of the cave entrance, and put the firework in her hand inside.
"Please come in more. Although my spirit flames won't produce smoke, they will also help to avoid being discovered."
The three people and the cat huddled in a corner, their dirty clothes a far cry from the neat clothes they had worn when they first came in, looking like beggars with their dusty faces.
The little bell that Li Yang wore when she first came in had long been thrown away because she thought it was in the way. The two little tufts on her head were also drooping on her head, looking like two dirty buns.
Now, the little bun is resting her face on her hands, staring listlessly at the cave entrance, while the ethereal cat lying at her feet is patting her insteps one after another.
"Ethereal Cat, how long have we been inside the Moonlit Illusion?"
The ethereal cat wanted to speak, but after thinking about it, it drew six horizontal lines on the mud with its paw.
Li Su exclaimed in surprise, "Six days! That's such a long time!"
Zeng Xu sighed, "How long is too long? We still have four days before we leave. How are we going to survive four days under the control of the evil race?"
"Hide?" Li Yang sneered, looking towards the cave entrance. "I never intended to hide. When Ji Cang and the others return, we'll figure out how to kill them!"
Li Yang's calm voice echoed at the cave entrance. Although Li Su and the others felt that this was impossible, they were still frightened by her tone and felt a chill run down their spines.
Fortunately, they turned over a new leaf, otherwise Lin Shuo and the others would have suffered a terrible fate.
The ethereal cat looked at Li Yang, and for a moment, she seemed to overlap with the fearless demon king from her inherited memories—the same arrogant tone, the same features…
Suddenly, a jumble of footsteps sounded outside. Li Yang and the others looked out warily. Mo Yixing braced himself on the ground with both hands, and after a long while, he said with a look of joy, "They're back!"
Li Yang quickly stood up and ran towards the door. When she saw that familiar figure walking at the front, she suddenly breathed a sigh of relief.
Ji Cang was also taken aback when he saw her, then smiled and asked, "Where are you going in such a hurry?"
Li Yang pouted and looked him up and down. When the arrogant guy came in, he was wearing a dark purple short-sleeved shirt with many silver ornaments jingling around his waist and neck. Now, not only were the original colors of his clothes unrecognizable, but the silver ornaments on his body had also disappeared.
Moreover, there was a deep, sharp mark running across the sleeve!
Li Yang shook her head, calmly took his hand and pulled him aside, "I'll treat your wound."
The white bird and the flying tiger exchanged a glance, then silently walked inside.
"Wait a minute!"
Hearing Li Yang's voice, the white bird turned around in confusion. A long, thin parabola flew towards them in mid-air. The flying tiger raised its hand and caught it. When it opened its palm, it saw a small porcelain bottle.
“You were injured too, this is for you.”
The white bird nodded slightly, "Thank you..."
The words "Demon King" were on the tip of her tongue, but she stopped herself. She glanced at Ji Cang out of the corner of her eye and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that he didn't seem to notice anything amiss.
Seeing that Li Yang remained silent, Ji Cang pressed her head down, forcing her to look up. "What are you doing? Your cheeks are puffed up like a little steamed bun?"
Li Yang snorted through his nose, "It's nothing! I was just thinking about how to kill them."
Ji Cang was somewhat puzzled, thinking back to the fight just now—luckily, one of his Ghost Eyes had returned, otherwise he really wouldn't have been able to restrain them, but if the little girl wanted to kill them... one or two would be fine, but if it were five evil people, then it would really be... a bit tricky.
Seeing that he was lost in thought, Li Yang turned her face away and continued to treat his wounds. His already torn shirt was easily ripped open with a tearing sound, revealing Ji Cang's arm.
Ji Cang looked quite thin, but his arms were covered with a layer of hard muscles. Dark red blood soaked through his arms, and the wounds were so deep that the flesh was turned outwards, making it look extremely terrifying.
Ji Cang wasn't used to exposing his wounds to outsiders. He glanced over there and pulled his clothes up a bit.
Li Yang frowned and glared at him warningly, "Don't move! I can't guarantee I won't chop your hand off!"
Ji Cang was about to retort when he looked down and was immediately horrified. "Stupid girl, what... what are you holding?!"
